The Col de la Madeleine served as the ultimate test on the 2025 Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift. Saturday’s 8th stage concluded at the summit of the iconic Alpine climb, where Nadia Gontova crossed the line in 22nd place, securing a strong result for Winspace Orange Seal.

The queen stage of the Tour delivered a true challenge, with the climbers having the perfect terrain to showcase their abilities. Canadian rider Nadia Gontova pushed hard and finished 22nd at the top of the Madeleine. "Yesterday was really hard from the start and I felt really on the limit all day", she said. "The pace was super high all day and I focused on making selections to stay with the main peloton which was slowly reduced. Once we got the the start of the climb I was really empty and couldn’t follow the group but I settled into my own pace and was able to pass some girls".

The team’s sports director Franck Renimel was pleased with her performance. "It’s a great result," he said. "She hasn’t been racing for very long, and she was able to stay with the yellow jersey group through the whole approach to the Madeleine, which was far from easy. She started the final climb well-positioned and kept a strong pace, gradually picking off riders. To finish 22nd – that’s top level and very promising for her. If she hadn’t lost so much time at the beginning of the Tour, she might have even been in contention for a Top 20 in the General Classification, or better."

Sunday’s 9th and final stage runs from Praz-sur-Arly to Châtel. The route features 2820 meters of climbing, including the Col de Joux Plane and the Col du Corbier.
