Kreiz Breizh Elites : Constance in the breakaway

ree

The opening act of the Breton weekend took place this Thursday. On this occasion, Constance Valentin was part of the breakaway that animated most of the day. Karolina Perekitko secured 32nd place at the finish, supported by her teammates Florence Normand, Camille Fahy, Marie-Morgane Le Deunff and Jenaya Francis.

The women’s version of the Kreiz Breizh Elites started at full speed. “The race was tense from the very beginning. There were lots of breakaway attempts in the first hour of racing,” said Constance Valentin, who managed to catch the right move. “When Michaela Drummond (Arkea B&B Hotels) attacked, I followed her and we went off as a duo, then Lauren Dickson (Alba) joined us. We spent most of the race together at the front.”

It was on the final circuit around Callac, the finishing town, that the race came to life. “Brodie Chapman (UAE ADQ) caught us and pushed the pace of the breakaway again. I dropped in the final, I had already spent a lot of energy.” Finishing 42nd, Constance remains optimistic for the upcoming races and for the end of the season. “It’s still quite reassuring for a comeback race, I’m satisfied with my shape. I hope it will be even better on Saturday in Plouay.”

The Classic Lorient Agglomération, a WorldTour event, will be another great opportunity for Winspace Orange Seal to showcase themselves.
