Kiara Lylyk and Constance Valentin strike hard in the Classique du Morbihan After some bad luck yesterday in the Pointe du Raz Ladies Classic, the Winspace Orange Seal riders responded in the best possible way in the Classique du Morbihan. While Constance Valentin broke away solo, team-mate Kiara Lylyk took sixth place in the sprint.
"Learn the lessons and channel our frustration into the next races" : that was the aim of Fiona Mangan and her partners at the end of an unlucky Pointe du Raz Ladies Classic for the French team. Mission accomplished. Constance Valentin once again showed off the two-tone WOS tunic, after flying away in Liège-Bastogne-Liège. The French mountain bike specialist entered the final circuit in Josselin alone. "I did the first two or three laps of the circuit in the lead", she explains. In total, she broke away for almost 30 km. This was a real source of satisfaction for sports director Franck Renimel. "She had a lead of up to 1 minute and 30 seconds", he commented.
Kiara Lylyk : "I was confident"
One Winspace Orange Seal cyclist can hide another. Kiara Lylyk, aged 20, distinguished herself by finishing sixth in the sprint. Despite her crash yesterday and some nervousness at the start, the Canadian managed to tame the final steep climb. "When the race started, I was confident. The further the race went, the better I felt. When we arrived on the circuit, I was comfortable on the steep climbs and on the technical roads. I'm grateful to have had the opportunity to go all the way", she explains. "It's extremely positive", adds Franck Renimel. "We've been involved and rewarded for our efforts. I'm pleased with the overall form of the runners. The Winspace Orange Seal team is in a position to play a leading role. They were able to close the gap with Kiara."
This time, luck was on the side of the ProTeams team. See you at the Grand Prix du Morbihan on Saturday 10 May.
