"Growing the Team": Damien Pommereau, Sports Director of Winspace Orange Seal

Damien Pommereau is appointed as the new Sports Director of Winspace Orange Seal for the 2025 season. The former French rider takes over from Jérémy Bellicaud with the ambition to lead the team to the world’s top international races.

His passion for cycling has never faded. The Villepinte native from Seine-Saint-Denis joins the ProTeam Winspace Orange Seal (WOS) staff for the upcoming season. "When Jean-Christophe Barbotin offered me to join this team, I jumped at the chance," confides the former Cofidis rider. "This is the environment where I began my journey (former Sports Director of the FDJ-Suez women’s team from 2006 to 2011, then called Vienne Futuroscope, Editor's Note). I have great memories from that time."

"Planning a race calendar in line with the team's level"

Present at the December training camp in La Rochelle, the 40-something hopes to "grow the team." The Polish star Karolina Perekitko is ready to build on her successful 2024 season. "She is the team leader," assures the former Vendée U Sports Director. "She showed great promise last year (7th at the 2024 Tour de l’Ardèche Féminin, Editor's Note). We will do everything to help her progress and support her."

Supporting the team will be one of the key missions for the former French U23 points race champion from 1999. He will manage the team and propose "a race calendar aligned with the team's level," he comments. "We must aim neither too high nor too low to find the right balance. The goal is for the riders to perform and grow."

Being a Sports Director Again: "A Rediscovery"

This new role as Sports Director is, for him, a true "rediscovery." A lover of the Flanders classics, he aims to "raise the level to secure the team’s stability and showcase the best image possible at ASO events, with the Tour de France as the ultimate goal.
