After a first stage marked by a promising place for Kiara Lylyk, her teammate Fiona Mangan was also in the spotlight. The double Irish champion finished 12th, just outside the top 10. Four of her teammates' dreams were dashed by a heavy fall. No serious injuries were reported. Karolina Perekitko's chances in the overall standings are slipping away. The Irish shamrock shone brightly. While her partners were delayed by a crash 35 km from the finish, with the exception of Constance Valentin, two-time Irish champion Fiona Mangan showed off her sprinting skills. The 28-year-old was in contention for 3rd place, but finished a brilliant 12th.

Fiona Mangan : “Constance Valentin really helped me in the final”

“I'm happy to have my head and legs back after a difficult start to the season. The girls did a great job today and Constance Valentin really helped me in the final. We're also disappointed for Karolina Perekitko, but the main thing is that we're all safe and sound and ready to attack another day tomorrow.”

Damien Pommereau: “It's a good place on the World Tour”

“It's a very good place for Fiona Mangan. The whole final was made chaotic by a big crash 35 km from the finish. Four girls were either caught in the fall or delayed, without too much damage. A large part of the peloton never returned to the front. Karolina Perekitko was trapped for the overall classification. Fiona Mangan and Constance Valentin returned to the front just before the flamme rouge, in a group of around 15. Fiona was able to sprint. It's a good World Tour place. We're going to do everything we can for Karolina Perekitko tomorrow (Saturday).

”Constance Valentin in forceps The mountain bike specialist did a great job of bringing Fiona Mangan back into the best positions “but I couldn't get her to the sprint", she explains.

Stages 3 and 4 : On the penultimate stage, leader Karolina Perekitko held her ground. “It was a good day for the team. She finished 13th on this queen stage. Kiara took part in a breakaway right from the start, but didn't go very far, and the other girls played their roles perfectly, helping Karolina right up to the foot of the last climb”, notes sports director Damien Pommereau.

“It was a difficult day, I wasn't feeling 100% after yesterday's fall but the girls did a good job with me to motivate me and give me the best. The last climb was difficult, but I did my best. I know we can be proud as a team", she admits. On the final stage, a time trial, there were no gaps.
